26.04.2013, 1. day, 114 / 114 km, Haiger

Here we go again. After 3 years I decided to undertake a new bicycle trip.
As usual first to my office and then off from there.
Until I came to Hattingen, the sun was shining. In Schwelm light rain began. From Kierspe I had heavy rain. Continuously.
At the same time the temperature went down to 8°C (56°F).
In Halver I waited for better weather conditions for 1 1/2 hours.
It got worse.
So I continued.
I must say, I didn't remember the many inclines in this part of the country called 'Bergisches Land'.
Or I have simply become older.
I needed more and longer breaks and was at 7 pm at Wildbergerhütte, 55 km away from the day's destination. Because there was no campground, I wanted to take a hotel.
When I called my friend in Haiger where I originally wanted to stay that night, he insisted on picking me up.
I was glad, for I was totally wet und cold. He turned on his sauna and so I warmed up very fast.
I hope that the rain won't be as heavy tomorrow. Let's see how far I will get.
