29.04.2013, 4. day, 126 / 496 km, Pleinfeld

After a good breakfast I continue along the Main river to Ochsenfurt. Here I find a very beautiful old town.
After this it goes uphill, via Uffenheim and Ansbach to Gunzenhausen.
And of course it rained the whole day, sometimes more, sometimes less. All the time I needed the baggage cover.
Nevertheless it is fun. A damp forest has a different smell than a dry one. You can enjoy the hot shower in the evening much more than ususal. And You can think about how comfortable life is on other days.
On the other hand I would not mind if it became warmer and dryer. But surely this will come.
In Gunzenhausen I enjoyed an Amarena-Cup (Ice-cream).
To Pleinfeld it was then only 20 km. I chose this campground because it was so commended in the camping-guide. They also should have WiFi.
I arrived at 6:30 pm, but the front desk had closed at 6 pm. There was a sign that one should contact the front desk of the nearby Hotel. The trainee there didn't know anything about wireless LAN, but charged 15 Euros for one night in my tent (normally between 7 and 10 Euros). If one didn't want to eat at the expensive hotel restaurant you could get nothing.
Therefore I ate the rest of the streusel cake I bought in Ochsenfurt. The desert was a piece of chocolate.
I have to write this report in the washing room (here is a power outlet). At least the shower was ok.
I will sleep rather early tonight. After all I can get breakfast at the hotel tomorrow.
I think that I will reach Landshut tomorrow, the day after tomorrow Freilassing.
Many thanks to all who wrote to me. I got all messages and enjoyed them, although I can't answer immediately because of time constraints.
I hope it will get warmer tomorrow and will stay dry.

The Main river near Ochsenfurt

The beautiful old town of Ochsenfurt

There are really good bike trails

Why hundreds of these snails are crossing the bike trail they obviously do not know themselves

Nice underbridge, here under the B13

In some places the signs are excellent

This camel has surely seen its best years

Sometimes the bike trail goes through the forest, but it is easily manageable with the bicycle

The tent is all by itself on the grass
