There was no frost at night, but almost. In the early morning it stopped raining. In my sleeping-bag I felt so cozy that I did not get up before 8am. Today it is not much warmer than yesterday, but there is a big advantage: it didn't rain the whole day. At the campground I couldn't get breakfast. In the next village I asked somebody I saw on the way. He said that there was no restaurant for breakfast, but the gas station just in front of me would serve coffee and sandwiches. But just in front of the station I saw a sign: rural inn with breakfast serving. I followed the sign and got a wonderful breakfast. I didn't need to go to the gas station for a coffee and sandwich. Then I went on through the "Spessart". The inclines were not less than in the "Bergisches Land". Generally I have nothing against inclines, in fact I like them, but they take time. While I normally want to have gone 50 km at noon, I had only 27 at this time. Because I wanted to get to Würzburg in any case I decided to take the way along the Main river and not the shortcut Löhr-Karlstadt which would have a long incline. The trail along the river ist well built and there are sufficient signs. One makes good progress. Nevertheless I arrived at Würzburg not earlier than 8 pm. The campground ist situated in the south. It was still open and I could get something to eat: but only schnitzel and fries - like yesterday. And they will have breakfast at 8 am. I'm curious how far I will get tomorrow. |
